- Select a sunny site with moderately rich soil. Where temperatures dip below 0°F, mulch well before the ground freezes. Tarragon does best in areas where it does have a period of winter dormancy. Established plants may be pruned to fit the confines of your herbal garden.
- Harvest should occur in late July. Tarragon leaves, like basil bruise easily. Handle with care during the harvest and drying process. Russian Tarragon produces hardy plants which make a great addition to any herbaceous border.
