General Shipping Information FAQ

If you're trying to place an order and it isn't going through, please make sure you're filling out the shipping information under the Cart Totals section in your shopping cart prior to proceeding to checkout. If you're trying to purchase an item and have filled out the required fields (State, City, Zip) and the order is not going through, it's likely due to the item not being available for shipping in your area. You can find this information in our description on the product listing.

Check your email for the latest update. You should receive a series of email updates as we handle your order:

  • Processing: Your order has been received.
  • On Hold/Awaiting Transfer (Occasional):  If there is an issue with your payment - OR - we are awaiting an inner-store transfer, you may receive an email letting you know of this possible delay.
  • Order Has Shipped:  If you've chosen to have a carrier ship your order, you will receive a notification that it has been given a shipping label with tracking information.
  • Ready for Store Pick-Up: - If you've chosen to pick-up your order at one of our locations, you will receive a notification when it is ready.
  • Order Has Been Delivered: If you've chosen to have a carrier ship your order, you will receive an additional notification that it has been delivered.
  • Additional Notes: You could also receive additional status updates in regards to your order.

If you don't see any emails, please check your spam/junk folder, or your deleted folder. Also, if you created an account with us, login to My Account. In the Orders section, you will see a quick description of your order status. Our shipping carriers include UPS & USPS. We also offer Alsip Nursery truck delivery to our local customers for large items. In-Store Pick-Up is also available for most of our offerings.

Once your order is completed, we'll send you an email with your tracking information. If you placed an order with us and haven't received your tracking information, it hasn't been completed yet, or it's likely gone to your Junk/Spam folder in your email. Please also check your Trash, as there may be emails accidently deleted from us. Feel free to contact us at shop@alsipnursery.com with any questions.

Currently, we only ship to the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

Yes. We can ship hardgoods items to California. However, we are unable to ship Live Plants currently due to local restrictions.

We can ship small order packages to PO Boxes. However, we will contact you for an alternate shipping address for Large order packages and all Live Plant orders.

Please email us at shop@alsipnursery.com or call us at 219-365-0882 with your cancelation request. We are unable to cancel orders that have been shipped and picked up with a carrier.

Returns depend on a number of variables based on the items you order. Please see our Return Policyhere.

All hard good items typically ship out by the next business day. We will notify you if there is a delay in your order. However, orders that contain both plants and hard good items will ship out once our plants are in stock and ready to be shipped. (Orders with Pre-Order Spring Plants will start shipping mid to late April.)

Most orders are shipped within 1-2 days. Once your order is with the carrier, travel times vary: Expedited Plant Shipping packages are typically in transit for 1-3 days. Standard Shipping packages are typically in transit for 2-4 business days. First Class USPS Shipping packages are usually in transit for 2-10 business days. However, carrier delays are possible.

  • Jumbo Annual Trays, Hanging Baskets, Perennials, Shrubs, & Trees, Fragile/Delicate Houseplants
  • Patio Furniture (Still in Boxes Please Call to Verify First)
  • Large Fountains and Statues
  • Live Animals (Including Crickets)
  • Frozen Pet Food
  • *Any Item we feel is too large/fragile to ship with a carrier
