- Peas like cool weather and regular moisture. Plant in rich, well-drained soil in early spring about a month prior to last frost date, or late summer for fall crops. Will tolerate light frost. Thinning is usually not necessary.

Grey Sugar is an old-time favorite snow pea with plump, sweet pods and lovely purple-red blossoms that can be added to salads. Short 2-3? vines do not require support. Cook pods like snap peas, or enjoy raw.
