- Red lettuce produces best color and growth in cool weather. Select a location with full sun, or part shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring, or fall/winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly. Lettuce does not like to be crowded.

Lake Valley- Lettuce, Salad Bowl Red Organic
A deep burgundy-red version of the All America Award-winning Salad Bowl green lettuce. Large lobed leaves are ready to cut early and last well into hot weather without bolting or turning bitter. A favorite for fancy salad mixes.
