- Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun, or part shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring, or fall/winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly. Lettuce does not like to be crowded.
- Harvest leaves as needed. Plant every two to three weeks for continuous harvest.
Lake Valley- Lettuce, Romaine Parris Island
Romaine lettuce, also called cos lettuce, is the classic choice for Caesar salads. This heat tolerant lettuce features 8-10? upright green leaves with firm, crisp mid-ribs. Slower to bolt (send up a seed stalk) than other lettuces.
