- Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun, or partial shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring/fall or winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly. Lettuce does not like to be crowded.
- Snip young leaves as needed. Allow the strongest plants to form tight heads for true buttercrunch flavor.

Heat tolerant and bolt resistant, with rich green leaves that form a tight head with a creamy center. Crisp and delicious! It won an All America Selections award in 1963.
