- For best germination, place seeds in an airtight bag or jar in the refrigerator two weeks prior to planting. Larkspur needs cool soil to germinate. Plant in a cool location in full sun a few weeks before last spring frost, when the soil is at least 55°F. Keep soil evenly moist.
- Tall spires may require staking in windy areas. Space plants properly to encourage the largest blossoms.
