- Sow outdoors in very early spring. Prefers full sun and loose, evenly moist soil amended with plenty of organic matter. Before planting loosen the soil to a depth of 12-18³ to help the roots grow long and straight. Be patient! Carrots can be slow to germinate.
- Loosen the soil with a garden fork before harvesting. Cut off the green tops 1/4-1/2³ from the top of the carrot, and rinse and dry the root before storage.
