  • Sow outdoors in late fall in a well-drained, sunny area for blossoms the following summer. Start indoors two to three months before final frost. Seeds started indoors must be cold treated (stratified) for proper germination. Place seeds between moist paper towels in the refrigerator for six to eight weeks before planting. Soak refrigerated seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours before planting.
