- Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost date for transplants, or direct sow after danger of frost and soil has warmed. Plant in sun or partial shade in amended, well-drained soil. Prefers light to moderate watering.
- Harvest fresh as needed for use in salads, soups or other dishes. To dry, cut stems in small bunches and hang them upside down in a dark, well-ventilated area. Fresh or dried leaves can be frozen for later use. Trim back established hyssop plants heavily in spring and again after flowering to encourage bushier plants.
