- Start beets outdoors in loose, well-drained soil in early spring or up to 6 weeks before first fall frost. Make a shallow trench about 1/2? deep. Place seed tape in trench and cover firmly with soil. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth.
- Plant every two to three weeks for continuous harvest. Beets prefer cool weather and can tolerate mild frost.
