Firstly, it effectively separates the decorative top-layer substrate from the underlying Draining Substrate, ensuring their distinct layers. Secondly, it enables proper water drainage when combined with the BioDrain Terrarium Draining Substrate. By doing so, the BioDrain Terrarium Draining Mesh prevents any contamination of the water by particles from the decorative substrate.
