Lucky Bamboo Care
Lucky Bamboo isn’t true bamboo—it’s actually a type of Dracaena.
Grown in soil or water, it’s popular for its symbolism of luck, harmony, and prosperity.
With minimal care and elegant form, Lucky Bamboo is perfect for desks, offices, or gifts. A beautiful, low-maintenance plant with a peaceful presence.

Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Tolerates low light but grows slowly. Avoid direct sun—it can scorch the leaves.

Watering
If grown in water: keep roots submerged in 1–3" of clean, distilled or filtered water. Change water every few days. If grown in soil: keep slightly moist but not soggy.

Humidity
Tolerates average indoor humidity. Occasional misting is beneficial in dry environments.

Temperature
Ideal range: 65–90°F (18–32°C). Avoid cold drafts and temps below 50°F.

Soil
Can be grown in well-draining potting soil OR water with decorative stones. If in soil, ensure proper drainage to prevent rot.

Fertilizing
Use liquid houseplant fertilizer every 2–3 months (very diluted). Over-fertilization causes yellowing.

Repotting
Repot soil-grown plants every 2–3 years. For water-grown, clean and trim roots every few months.

Pruning & Cleaning
Prune yellowing stalks or leggy growth. Wipe leaves clean to remove dust. Trim roots as needed when grown in water.

Pet Safety
Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Can cause vomiting, drooling, and lack of coordination.

Common Problems
Yellow leaves = over-fertilization, or too much light. Drooping = underwatering (soil) or dirty water (hydroponic). Stalk rot = standing in dirty water or poor drainage.

Common Pests
Watch out for mealybugs, spider mites, aphids, and scale.

Fun Fact
The number of stalks has symbolic meanings—3 for happiness, 5 for health, 8 for wealth, and 21 for powerful blessings!
