Bromeliad Care
Bromeliads are tropical plants prized for their striking foliage and colorful, long-lasting blooms.
With their rosette-shaped “tanks” and exotic flair, they bring a touch of the rainforest indoors.
Easy to care for and pet-safe, bromeliads are perfect for adding texture and color to shelves, countertops, and tabletops.

Light
Bright, indirect light is best. Some varieties tolerate lower light, but blooming may decrease. Avoid direct sun—it can bleach or burn leaves.

Watering
Water soil lightly when dry; never soggy.

Humidity
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50%+). Mist occasionally or place on a pebble tray. Dry air may cause leaf tips to brown.

Temperature
Ideal range: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Avoid temps below 50°F and cold drafts.

Soil
Use fast-draining, airy mix—orchid mix or peat-based blend with bark/perlite. Needs excellent drainage.

Fertilizing
Use diluted liquid fertilizer monthly during spring/summer. Apply to soil or lightly spray into cup. Avoid strong fertilizers—they can damage the plant.

Repotting
Rarely needed unless rootbound. Repot pups (offsets) when a few inches tall.

Pruning & Cleaning
Remove spent flowers and old leaves at the base. Trim brown tips if needed. Gently clean dust from leaves.

Pet Safety
Non-toxic to cats and dogs.
A great pet-friendly option

Common Problems
Brown leaf tips = dry air or buildup in cup. Fading color = insufficient light. Rot = overwatering or stagnant water in cup.

Common Pests
Watch out for mealybugs, scale, and spider mites.

Fun Fact
Bromeliads bloom only once in their lifetime, then produce “pups” to continue the cycle!
