- Cucumbers grow best when direct sown after soil has warmed to 70°F, one week after last frost. Prefers rich soil but will produce well in almost any garden with full sun and consistent watering. Start transplants indoors five weeks before last frost date.
- Cucumbers have shallow roots and need regular watering for best production. Feed monthly with organic fertilizer or compost for bumper crops.
